"BIRDIE" aka Steve Burdette aka "SpeedoKing"

Steve "Birdie" Burdette, the original South Bay organizer. What can we say about this guy who has practically every little scooter doodad in his garage that you could ever possibly need? To say that Steve's place is the unoffical South Bay Scooter Club's repair shop is an understatement. His knowledge of scooters is so vast that he can tell you what came stock on practically any Vespa or Lambretta. He is the MAN in the South Bay, and his expertise is utilized, especially in restoring scooter speedometers, by many people from across the country, let alone the world...Hence his moniker of SPEEDOKING!

And this is Birdie, as described by Carlos Ambrozak:

"Steve Burdette, A.K.A., "The Speedo King" has been scootering for many years. When I first met him, I was very impressed by how immaculate all of his bikes were. I'd never seen so many bikes, in one place, in such perfect condition. At the time, he owned a Vespa P200E, two Lambretta Li 150's, an award winning Allstate, and an all original Vespa GS-160. Since then, many scooters have passed through Steve's hands, each one emerging from his garage in pristine condition. It always bothered Steve to see a restored bike that was perfect, down to the very last bolt, except for the speedometer. His quest for restoration perfection and superhuman eye for detail led him to create The Speedo King so that every Vespa and Lambretta could have a chance to overcome the last great barrier in any restoration: the speedometer.

If you are considering a restoration, don't hesitate to contact the Speedo King. He's a very friendly guy and he can tell you exactly what you need to do to get your speedometer looking like it just came out of the factory."

Visit Steve's website, SpeedoKing, for all your speedo restoration needs!!

And this is Steve's beautiful little scooterist-in-training, Janine; how cute is she?!?
