Two Stroke. Bore: 42mm. Stroke: 45mm. Two Cylinders. Total cubic capacity: 124,68cc. Power output at 6,000 rpm: 6.5hp. Fiscal HP: 3. Compression ratio: 6:5:1
By petrol fed through a single downdraught Dell 'Orto carburetor. The petrol tank is situated in the forward alloy frame castings and has a capacity of 1 1/4 gallons. Approximately 1/4 gallon of petrol is held in reserve. The petrol tap is placed on the right of the forward casting level with the top of the crash rail and has three positions: The type of oil mixed with the petrol should be SAE 30, such as Castrol XL, at a ratio of 16:1. During the first 1,000 miles this should be 12:1. Most of the petrol mixtures obtainable from pre-mixed pumps are approved and may be used. The use of ADDI-MIX is recommended at a ration of 40:1, but not for the first 400 miles on a new machine, otherwise the running-in period will be extended to 10/15,000 miles.
By flywheel magneto giving an output of 30 watts. Two sets of contact points are positioned within the flywheel; two ignition coils are utilized and are situated inside the headlamp casting where they are fully protected.
Due to the unique positioning of the twin power unit it is kept cool by the constant flow of air on to the cylinder heads, and the engine will not overheat even in the hottest climates.
The gearbox has four speeds operated by a foot operated rocking pedal. The gear ratios are: 1:2.64. 2nd.1:1.735. 3rd.1:1.26. 4th.1.1
Multiple discs in oil.
The primary drive is by gears and the final drive to the rear wheel by chain 1/2 x 5/16. The chain is fully enclosed and protected inside the rear swinging arm. Ratios: Between the engine and gearbox: 2.28:1 Between gearbox sprocket and rear wheel: 1.928:1 Total transmission ratios: 1st. 14.33 2nd. 9.42 3rd. 6.84 4th. 5.43
By forward action kickstart.
The body is essentially in three parts and is made of light alloy in castings. These alloy castings are extremely strong and not easily damaged. Being a solid casting there is no vibration transmitted from the engine.
Front suspension is by sprung forks and leading links. Rear suspension by swinging arm on rubber blocks.
Front and rear wheels are split rims and interchangeable size 350 x 10.
Pirelli tires are fitted as standard equipment 350 x 10. Tire pressures are: Front - 18 lbs.psi. Rear - 22 lbs.psi.
With a pillion passenger the pressures should be increased to: Front - 22 lbs.psi. Rear - 29 lbs.psi.
Double expanding shoes front and rear.
Maximum hill climb - 1 in 3. Petrol consumption averages 95 mpg. Maximum petrol consumption - 75 mpg. Minimum - 120 mpg.
2nd: 28 mph 3rd: 39 mph 4th: 52 mph 2nd: 35 mph 3rd: 57 mph 4th: 67 mph
